Michael Collins Dunn, founder and Editor of The Estimate, is a Middle East specialist with more than 25 years’ experience in the

- Co-founded The International Estimate, Inc. In 1988 and The Estimate in 1989; sole owner since 1990-1991.

- Also Editor of The Middle East Journal, the academic quarterly of the Middle East Institute, since October 1998.

- Has taught at Georgetown University’s Center for Contemporary Arab Studies and at Utah State University. (Ph.D., Georgetown, 1975 in Islamic History.)

- A specialist in Egyptian history by training, Dr. Dunn lived in Egypt in 1972-1973 and 1977-1978. He has traveled widely in the Arab world from Morocco to Oman.

- Special interests include Middle Eastern security policy, political Islam, North Africa and Egypt, and the Gulf.
